The testing phase of the StakeU.com software development process is fast approaching. We have some features we are excited to get some input on, some we just want to make sure work properly, and some that may very well evolve into some pretty neat tools for our users. We are still building our "tester" list, if you're interested click on the Contact Us link and send us a message.
Team StakeU.comThe StakeU.com staff is currently evaluating both online and live players to become part of Team StakeU.com. We are still looking at benefits for potential team members though premium access to StakeU.com site features, moderator or contributer status within the StakeU.com community, possible revenue sharing agreements, tournament entries and more is very possible. We will likely be a little picky with this process to start. We are looking for established and successful poker players with personalities that attract attention. If you're interested in becoming a part of the team, or if you have some questions we haven't answered here, Contact Us.
The StakeU.com system is born from a need. There is a need for accountability in poker staking transactions. The internet makes it so simple to remain anonymous, even when someone else's money is involved. After a big score, or a great session, it has always been so easy for a staked poker player to take the money and run.
With a realtime identity verification and risk assessment system, StakeU.com will take huge steps towards removing the risks that shouldn't be there. In partnership with what will be the one of the most detailed player reporting systems available, the StakeU.com system will allow poker stakers to make the most informed decision possible.
For the players and the stakees, simplicity is the objective. It's hard enough to manage multiple tables and long sessions. When you add in the need to keep detailed records of your actions and decisions, it can contribute to a less profitable session. The StakeU.com system streamlines the update process. Your staker will still always know exactly what is going on, but the player will barely notice the steps taken to update. Live poker players will have the ability to update via app, text, or mobile e-mail. They will never have to connect to the site. Online poker players will have the option to send automatic updates via our desktop software or manual updates via our "Rail" system.
On top of the revolutionary poker staking system in development, we want to bring you more. Our content management team will be responsible for providing the most accurate and entertaining poker relevant news and educational articles. Everything from live video coverage to player blogs will be available in our News/Content section.
What is StakeU.com?
StakeU.com is a profile based community designed to couple poker players and poker stakers. The goal of the site is to provide players an easy interface to find and manage stakes, establish relationships with stakers, monitor play and progress, and be profitable. For stakers we want to provide an environment where information is plentiful, communication is effortless, and security is a priority.
What is staking?
Staking is a process where a staker and a player come to an agreement. In most cases the staker provide all (or a portion) of a players buy-in to a specific event or game, and the player participates in the agreed upon event or game. In the event the player does not win a prize beyond the initial buy-in, the staker absorbs the losses. In cases where the player is profitable, the player then pays back the buy-in (and sometimes makeup for previous buy-ins) and proceeds to split the remainder of the profits with the staker according to whatever the original agreement was.
How much is this going to cost?
StakeU.com offers it's basic services free of charge. Identity verification services may include a nominal charge, in most cases just enough for us to the costs associated with the service. In the future, possibly just a few months from launch, some premium features may be available to our users.
How is StakeU.com different?
Much of what we plan to offer is very similar to the variety of services already available on the internet. The biggest difference between StakeU.com and everyone else is simple. Security. Our priority is security. From the fraud prevention systems we've developed to the simple identitiy verification process we've integrated into the registration process. We want to eliminate as much of the risk from the staker/stakee transaction as possible. Beyond security there are a few differences. We are built from the ground up to be a high traffic, efficient, purpose built platform. Our software is modular, and expandable. Our web servers are scalable, and our database is designed for growth. We like to think we took what was already there, identified, the shortcomings, and ran with it.
Am I going to get ripped off or cheated?
Probably not. We will have systems in place when we launch that will eliminate this risk almost entirely.
How do I know how good a player really is?
The custome StakeU.com player reporting system will assign a score to each user that represents his/her performance over the last 90-days. This score can be filtered by game and buy-in, as well as by a few other factors. If you want a stakee to play a 6-Max NLHE SNG at 3am, you can search for the user with the best results for that time of day, game style, and buy-in.
What if I play live most of the time?
Then we hope you have a cell phone. The StakeU.com system is designed to be mobile user friendly, so far as the entirety of the site can be accessed from almost any mobile browser.
Why would a winning player need a stake or a backer?
One very interesting word. Varience. Poker player normally use a backer to limit the varience to thier own bankroll, allowing them to either play in slightly larger buy-in events, or with a slightlt smaller bankroll than normal.
Is the StakeU.com site secure?
Yes, beyond the security features we've custome designed to protect our users, we use all the basics too. SLL encryption and security certificates protect all logged in users as if they were logged into thier banks website.
How does StakeU.com make any money doing this?
We make money in a few different way, all while doing all we can to not charge directly for our services. Volume pays the bills. The more traffic we have visiting the StakeU.com site the more money we can charge for advertising. We may (posible but not likely) offer a premium subscription package to our users to avoid vieiwing any advertising on the site. A small portion of revenue is also earned via poker room affiliate programs, fees, and professional services.
Who owns StakeU.com?
StakeU.com is owned by Nosnom Media, a Minnesota Limited Liability Company.
